Being Vulnerable: Radical Generosity as a Core Value

One of Women Eat Well’s core values as an organization is generosity. I am excited to be vulnerable with you about this core value today.

The Bible talks a lot about generosity. As Christians, we are to hold lightly our time (Eph. 5:15-17; Col. 4:5-6), tools (Eph. 4:28), talents (Matt. 25), temples (1 Corinthians 6:18-20; Matt. 6:16-18), and, perhaps most importantly, treasures (Luke 16:10-13; Matt. 6:2,19-24). God has given us all of the good things in our lives, and is therefore deserving of receiving back from us whatever He desires of us. We have the delight of keeping a joyfully open hand to His will.

For WEW, I believe that this means God has provided me with the skills to provide Intuitive Eating Coaching to be used, not wasted. I want to be generous with the gift of this training for the building up of the body of Christ and by spreading the good news of the Gospel alongside the freedom of Intuitive Eating for those caught in emotional, physical, or spiritual bondage–regardless of their ability to afford these services financially.

I intend for WEW to thrive based on economic standards and principles that rely on the wisdom and power of the Lord. WEW is not a “get-rich-quick” scheme. I do not expect to sustain my personal income by this endeavor, as of now. As a business-owner, I believe in not going into debt. God talks a lot about the borrower being a slave to the lender (Pr. 22:7), and because of this, I believe businesses and organizations are best sustained when money is available before a purchase rather than after. This is why I am fundraising now, not later. I am waiting on the Lord for His provision.

If you would like to partner with me in supporting WEW financially, I will be starting an email newsletter soon. You can chose to subscribe in order to keep in the loop about new blog posts, prayer requests, financial needs, and other updates.

If you already know that you would like to give, I have a client in need of financial assistance in the coming months. You can support this client by donating any amount to this GoFundMe page. No gift is too large or too small! If you have questions about how I have determined to financially assist clients, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you would like to share the link to this post with someone local who could benefit from WEW services, or who would be interested in giving, I would SO appreciate it! Small business owners thrive off of community support and networking. If you are reading this, you probably are my network, since WEW is so new. I am so thankful to be serving the Cedar Valley and beyond. I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store. I pray that God will use WEW for the transforming, and perhaps even the saving, of many lives (Genesis 50:15-21).
